A Pyramid Text

This passage "A Pyramid Text" explained how death was a positive, happy thing to encounter. The person in the text was explaining how a gatekeeper would come take Teti's  hand and take him to heaven to be reunited with his father Geb. The tone of this passage was calming, it made me feel as if going to the afterlife would be something enjoyable. He expressed to Teti that his father Geb would caress him, it made me wonder why he would say such a thing? I felt that maybe he said that because he feels Teti is hurting from being apart from his father and that he needs comfort. Towards the end of the passage it said "As ordered done for you by Geb your father, rise up, O Teti, you shall not die". That phrase came off to me that even though Teti might go to the after life to be with his father they he shall never die, that being in the afterlife is only the beginning to eternal life.

Agriculture

In chapter 1 it discussed a lot about how Paleolithic people made separate and distinct societies with its history. It explains the different cultural lifestyle they had and the many ways they farmed and supplied their food. Back in these times of the Paleolithic in life people would gather wild foods and hunt wild animals for their families to survive. There was a time when people had only access to what was out there in the wild. Today we have access to fish markets, super markets, and restaurants, it so interesting to see how so much has changed over the years in the food industry. There was a big shift in the food industry and that was called Agriculture, it spread gradually but as time went on it had spread all around the world. Mostly everyone that could afford it would grow their own crops and pick them; it was a new way of life in the food industry. I really admire these time zones because it made a way for us and how we should supply our food to survive. I wouldn’t necessarily agree with how our food is grown and stocked today, I personally wish we still grew our crops with no added preservatives or gmo’s but all in all without these time zones teaching us how to grow and gather food we would be lost. The Paleolithic era taught us a lot about depending on ourselves to grow and gather our own food, because if we didn’t we would not be able to survive, know the true value of food, and how there were times where food wasn’t so easy to access.
